The glass and porcelain section on second floor is shut down and gone. The jap and Chinese art on third floor? Gone. Gift shop is a joke. Nothing sold from past exhibits. Degas, renoirs, picassos, and Rembrandt put up. Instead there is this garish golden metallic tent on second floor that suPposedly represent American history. A complete joke.

That sounds awful. I'd go there about once a month just to walk with my daughter but it's been a few years.

The sculpture garden is still pretty cool.

ETA: Does Shell still sponsor the museum and provide free entry on Tuesdays?

According to the website, it's free on Wednesdays for Louisiana residents thanks to the Helis Foundation. Whatever that is.

Thanks for calling me a terrible poster the other day. My feelings are still hurt. :(

yeah, the Sculpture Garden was pretty nice. Very innovative. Was well attended yesterday. Perfect day to visit outdoors.
