this is about a band of stupid arse hillbilly's occupying federal property under the veil of "peaceful" however they are armed to the teeth.
Not that I agree with them, but the simple possession of firearms in the north woods doesn't exactly prevent one from being "peaceful".
"Peace officers" carry guns too.
I don't think they are a threat to anyone but bear and deer at this point. Squatting in an empty ranger station out in the woop woop is pretty much the perfect place for those types.

You are right. They want nothing to do with this bunch of loons. I wouldn't really care if the government went in their and shot these guys up. They deserve it. That wildlife reserve is for everyone, not for this group of loons to make it their home.
However, they aren't really bothering the public or burning down buildings. That really gives the cops time to come up with a plan to deal with these idiots without getting themselves shot at.

I don't disagree with what you are saying one bit and I don't think it deserves action or attention. The attention is bothering me more than anything just because of the ripple effect.

Right. One would think that by simply ignoring them they'd get bored and go home after a point.
They thrive on an adversary. Surround them with cops and they'll feel threatened and dig in and rally more support and reinforcements.
Just leave them be and they'll be a bunch of dudes out in the middle of nowhere, just sitting. They'll get bored and horny and go home.

I'm not aligning with Bundy. This situation has nothing to do with Bundy. But if you think what the government has been doing to this family in Oregon for the past twenty years is right, then I'd love to hear your argument in favor of what the government has done, including trumping up bullshite arson charges against the two men. So let's hear it,why do you support the government here?

not familiar with the Oregon law or any federal laws, but in Alabama, it's not arson unless you burn down a building. Not to mention, they charged and sentenced these dudes as terrorists.

This. I can't for the life of me figure out how anyone could side with the govt in this instance. They have terrorized the Hammond family and run them out of business trying to get their greedy hands on these people's property. It's criminal what they've done to them.

I have to agree here. When they had the big stand off years ago, I wondered the same thing. Some FBI Agent should casually drop off a business card with a note: "Give me a call when you guys wrap it up so we can chat."

I'd love to read more about the case to be honest. The first I heard of it was when the Bundys were involved and I've looked into it but most of the articles lately are just a brief overview and shitty background information of what led to this point. If you have anything that speaks more to the original case I'm genuinely interested in reading about it.

Go to the poli board and there you'll find a pretty detailed timeline going back decades showcasing the tyrannical actions of the federal government against this family and their neighbors. The other ranchers finally gave up and left. This family is all that's left there and the Feds have made their lives hell for doing nothing more than trying to save their ranch. There should be several people go to jail for a really long time over what's been going on and none of them should be from this family.
