Do you live in Florida? Have you seen the projections for much of Florida with the sea level rise? It ain't good.

Money is going to be spent on places that seem to be important to people. Miami, New York City, Charleston, Boston, etc., all are facing major issues. Would you say the same for those places?

No. Grew up there but haven’t lived in a while.

Exactly. There is proof that most of New Orleans should be under water. ONLY projections for the places you mentioned.

New Orleans people don't usually talk that much about BR unless people from BR (or other places) keep talking about how much of a shithole New Orleans is.

Louisiana can't come up with the money to save New Orleans on its own, and any attempt by the feds to save it will fail in the end because of our completely inept managing of any legitimate attempt. Buckle up, because this problem will only get worse, and has no "forever" solution.

In comparison to the amount of talking that goes on about New Orleans here??? shite, it ain't even close. And like I said, it's usually a thread bashing New Orleans first (and of course, there is no shortage of material there). You have the occasional troll thread like the one recently that said BR was ahead of NO in murder rate per capita or whatever for the year, but there are basically daily New Orleans threads on here. And although there are people commenting from all over Louisiana and other places, BR posters seem to be pretty prominent in those threads.

I’m not denying that BR people talk out their asses about Nola but BR gets crushed multiple times daily on this board by all, including plenty of Nola people. Typically for good reason

It ain't underwater though, and now it's just a projection just like the other places I mentioned.

New Orleans residents built levees early on and some places were swampland when it was founded and turned into dry land due to the pumps and levees they developed. So some of it was basically underwater when it was founded. It's the nature of the place. There were two pumps invented by a New Orleans guy that were used in other cities in America and even in the Netherlands because they worked so well. They somehow basically worked for about 100 years without needing maintenance. But you eventually need other assistance as times change and the Army Corps of Engineers weren't up to the task in regards to what led to the Katrina issues.

That's a given when it comes to the corrupt and ignorant politicians in this area. No place ever really has a "forever" solution though. I know what you mean though.

Time to dig out all the streets and create New Venice. Imagine the boon to tourism and increasing revenues for city leaders to waste.
