I don't work in the office HQ often, but they have an open office environment. The problem as I see it is that they did not install a white noise masking system, so everyone can hear everyone.

....just for it to turn out that the reason young people liked open offices was that they weren’t in the work force long enough yet to realize that open offices suck arse and you’d prefer your own space.

It all came from these trendy tech companies in the bay area. Open floor plans make sense if you're in a business that requires a lot of collaborative creativity like these tech companies. An accounting firm with rows of 40 ft long tables is stupid.

We recently purchased sliding cubical doors for our office.
