Those numbers are fluffed due to the 95% that pass some of the weaker boot camps.
This is also after most poolees go through a year or so in the depth programs preparing for boot camp before they even leave. Recruiters have to make sure they are physically fit enough to pass because it looks bad on the recruiter if the kid fails boot camp. Most of the kids they send have to go through a lot of workouts to even get sent.
If they were pulling kids off the street, probably about 40% would pass. 25% would pass Marine Corps boot camp

That weekend consisted of liberty from 8am to 6pm each day until you shipped out to A school on Monday
I don't remember getting liberty everyday until I shipped out. We got the day and weekend of graduation. 3 of us were the last from our class to get shipped out. We just sat around and watched movies. I was probably a year before you in 95.

My sister in law's little bro joined the Navy and he's still a huge p****. For that reason and after watching this trailer, Navy bootcamp seems pretty easy.

Navy boot camp was easy as shite. I’ve never laughed more for a sustained time than I did in those 8 weeks.
NNPTC and NPTU however... a different story all together.

Not if you were on vols...
Was nice to move into an apartment after power school, was ridiculous when I went to my ship that they restricted liberty again on us just because the other folks reporting were coming straight from a couple week A school and had only been in the navy like 3 months

Passed "A' school, failed Power School by 12 points. Failed the RP Final in the last week of school which was the final nail in my "nuke" coffin. Physics has never been something that came naturally to me. What sucks is I had A's in all of my EM classes. Just couldn't cut it in the MM and physics stuff.
Landed on my feet though, went on to be a Radioman and have worked in IT ever since.

Can we also talk about the people they chose to feature in this trailer?
Did they have to pull the two weirdest looking twins to ever join the military? What about the biracial photog striking glamor shots?

Hey, I’m not hating. I remember being jealous of the barracks and facilities on Kadena when I was up at Camp Schwab.

Btw, you mentioned you went to boot camp in 2003. I did too.
What power school class were you? 0404 by any chance?

I know, I'm just joking. You should have said Coast Guard not Air Force though.

My father was 30 years in the Coast Guard. He could probably crush you into a fine powder.

Who wants to see a doc about Navy boot camp?
Someone needs to do another BUD/S one similar to class 234.
