I feel like once you got that far the people in it were staying in it. First couple bios IMO is what sent people over to kinese or out of science entirely.

This. Many went into business and journalism at that point. It's too bad my b-i-l makes more than me with his MBA. Maybe I shoulda flunked Biology/Chemistry.

I'm sure some upper level physics courses deserve mentioning.
You've got it. For as "hard" as some people think PHYS 2101 and 2102 are, 1201 and 1202 (the equivalent courses that physics and astronomy majors take) have more work with more advanced math as well as the accompanying increased lab load.

For every person that complains about 2101 or 2102, there are a dozen who curse thermodynamics. I'm going to guess that the physics equivalent, PHYS 4125, is pretty high up the list.

I double majored in biochemistry and chemistry and a minor in physics. I graduated with a 4.0 but the classes I had to spend a lot of time on were the second P Chem and one of the 4000 level physics classes (can't remember name) I took as an elective. The study habits I was forced to learn at LSU helped me in the first 2 years of med school.

There was this comparative anatomy course that seemed impossible. Dropped it after the first day.
