I occasionally get rid of clothes and have purged cuffs and pleats and baggy clothes (dress shirts, suits and pants have become tapered in the last 10 years)

I could probably clear out 90% of mine and not miss it. Hard to bring myself to throw anything out though.

I went through my closet recently and ditched a ton of clothes. But I still have some old favorites I kept like the 18 year old 2007 LSU National Championship long t-shirt I'm wearing today. LOL

I have several pieces of clothing that are over 15 years old. Buy nice things that will last and not go out of style. I might buy a few pieces of clothing in any year. My Mother in law usually gets me a linen shirt or sweater.

As for T shirts, I have like 40, and have no plans on getting rid of them. My son will love a lot of them in HS and college.

Looking at some photographs from 10 years back and I noticed myself waring items that are still in my closet today. Nothing tacky. Basic stuff, like a blue collared shirt, etc. Worn just occasionally. Still in good shape. Still fit fine.

Then what’s the problem?

One tip I saw was if most of your stuff is hanging, flip the hanger hook the wrong way on the rack until you wear it then flip it the right way when putting it back. Anything that's still flipped the wrong way after a year gets tossed

Myself though I can't find a reason to ditch anything that's still in style and still in good shape regardless of how old or little it gets worn
