I mustache you a question.
ETA:
OP, do you know what the structural column is or if it is even bad? If not, and you're gonna replace the stucco no anyway, cut out a portion at the base to see what you're working with.

I have no idea what the column is made of. I actually hate the round "colonial style" columns. I want to go back with a square style and plan to paint all the trim on the Windows, and the column a darker color, with the stucco on the walls to be a lighter color grey

I would eliminate the column on the left depending on the span. Go with a cypress as others have recommended. Might as well stain your entry door and window frame while you are at it.

Old pine from Higgins in Marepas is what you want.
A lot of the big old structural timbers were mostly old pine as far as I can tell.
I built a Hayes Town style house 2 years ago, and all the big reclaimed wood that I always thought people were doing in Cypress was actually heart pine.
Before people say I'm nuts- house has old cypress doors and new cypress cabinets, but the big stuff- some beams 12x10x20'.....even structural stuff we pulled ourselves from a Civil-war era sugarmill was old pine.
In any case, call Higgins- this is the stuff they specialize in.
