Fly there and drive it back.

(1) Make it a refundable r/t ticket to VA in case the vehicle is not as advertised

Better to find out in VA instead of paying s/o to drop it off at your house AND paying for the vehicle “in case the vehicle is not as advertised “

Or
(2) send a local reliable mechanic to VA with a flatbed truck to inspect the vehicle and bring it back.

I have quotes to transport ranging from $655.00 - $1500.

If I fly to Virginia and drive it back I have more costs as well as possible issues with the vehicle over that long drive.

1973 Charger with a 440 magnum worked .40 over is probably not a touring type of vehicle.

Reliable, Intercity, Pilot, TFX are the ones most mentioned on collector car forums. TFX does a lot of shipping for Barrett Jackson

1200 miles @ 120 gallons of gas $360
1 hotel room $125
One way ticket @ $200
Food $50

$735

Hassle factor and Murphy's Law Add $1000

So anything under $2000 is a bargain.

Id ship it
