I like Makita for cordless tools.
Not sure who is downvoting you but they have never used a Makita.

DeWalt is Black and Decker garbage. Always has been. My uncle worked for them in corporate.
I would go Makita. Like this....
I own a shitload of tools and these are the only companies I buy from...
Makita
Bosch
Hitachi
Milwaukee
Festool
Fein
Tesa
Mitutoyo
Sawstop
Wiha
Wera
Kafer
Proto
Precision Instruments
Knipex
Bahco
SK
Klein
Gedore
(some may have noticed that Snap-On, MAC, etc. are not on this list. The reason being is that companies like those mostly contract out manufacture to actual manufacturers, mostly high-quality, obscure companies most people have never heard of, re-label it as their own and charge you your life savings for it. Prime example, Precision Instruments.)
When it comes to older, vintage tools all bets are off as there are many companies that are now defunct or were once great and now garbage living off past glory. Examples that come to mind are Rockwell and Porter Cable. FYI, DeWalt was never good(except their old redial arm saws which were awesome).

Dewalt is good but Rigid warrants their batteries.
