Saturday night Cara was shot three times in the ruthless events that took place in Dadeville at the sweet 16 birthday party. She is in critical condition but she is stable. She did have brain surgery as well as surgery to address her chest and abdominal gunshot wounds. The doctors feel confident that they have repaired her chest and abdominal wounds completely. We are now in the waiting period of reducing the swelling of her brain. She is in a medically induced coma and cannot have any visitors other than her grandmothers, dad, and sister. There have been a lot of post with misinformation so I wanted to update Cara’s status on behalf of the Baker family as they are going through something unimaginable. Thank you so much to all of the Tallassee City School system for all that you have done for Cara and Jenning as they started back to Tallassee this week. They are so grateful for how you all have stepped in for this family before this shooting and after.

To Josh, the young man who went back in and stayed with Cara until the paramedics got there. You are a hero on earth. You have a servant’s heart and there are just no words for your leadership, bravery, and courage during something no one deserved to experience. Thank you young man
