Why are cars this item that you can haggle the price on? I find it strange
I find it strange you complain about being able to pay less than the manufacturer suggests a good should cost.
I wish I could haggle on everything I buy.

You can haggle on anything, in fact I recommend it. I got 20% of my fridge at lowes last year

Unfortunately, I think you're pissing into the wind at this point. Some of these guys just aren't going to get it.

Dealers get kickbacks from the finance agencies, that's why they prefer you to finance
That's about as simple as it gets
They gain absolutely nothing by you paying it off day 1, so why would they give you a better deal if it's not a better deal for them

When you finance, you get paid IMMEDIATELY, the bank buys it and then gives the dealer a bonus for letting them buy it and charge interest on it. The more the interest the more the bonus. This is how the dealer loses money when you pay cash. This part, I dont care about.
Some people hate sales people. Good for them, I still sell my 25 cars a month and my dealership sells 200. So no we are and will not be obsolete.
The out the door prices are something people come to salesman and say before they even shake hands. This is something I do not know. shite sometimes I dont know the list price! Like said before, I show value to build you on paying that price. I dont talk numbers until we get inside and sit down, you're already in love with the car and willing to pay anything for it.
Its not magic, its not crooked or thievery, its being sold.

Why do buyers think that they are entitled to some drastic discount off of sticker price because they are paying cash?
I worked in real estate sales for high-end projects and dealt with many, many all cash buyers (over 60-70%). They did expect a discount but I never gave it. But, from a sales standpoint, it made my life a lot easier because I never had to worry about spending a lot of time with someone only to realize that they couldn't get financed. I think it's the same with all cash car sales. It just means that "this will be a quick, easy transaction". No more, no less. Just a quick easy transaction.

If a dealers wanted quick and easy transactions, they should stop dicking around on trade values. This is where all the negotiating comes in on new cars now.
They know they won't make as much money on the new unit, so they try to stick it to you on the old one.

I don't see anything wrong with them trying to maximize profit
You know there are people that accept the first offer

90 percent of the time the price is on the vehicle. We as salesman for the most part dont know whats in the car so we cant give the beat price, and if we did then we make no money.
I personally love cash deals, cuts anywhere from 30 minutes ( great credit) to 3 hours ( no credit) out of the process. Its a numbers game for the most part.
Earlier stated about the raptor, its not like people buy these everyday and we have 1 om the lot.

Oh I have no problem with it either. I just wish they would realize a little quicker when someone who had done their homework gives them a fair number and just accept it.
I'm in the middle of a deal right now, and I know eventually they will take my number. But the used manager is insistent on this low ball price still, all over $1000. I know my number gives them a great range for profit, while still being fair to me. Deep down I know the manager knows that too, but he thinks he's going to push me over. I feel bad for the salesman, I know he's ready to make his sale.

I offered a small mom and pop used car lot $7k for a truck that they had listed for $10,998. I am very picky, so I don't find stuff I like all of the time. I sat there and watched over 3 months as these idiots finally lowered the price to $6995.
About a week before the 3 months was up, I called to harass them about not taking my original offer. I offered them $6k that time, and the salesman got pissed and hung up the phone. A few days after the 3 month mark it was gone, and I'm guessing they sent it to auction and probably got $4500 for it. If they would've just taken the money to start with, they would've had the truck out of the door within the first week. I walked in with a wad of cash, and they got greedy and sat on it. I'd guess you can say they actually lost money because it took up space on their small lot for those 3 months.
One of the shadiest things I have ever had happen at a dealership was so blatantly ridiculous I almost flipped my shite. A used Tundra was listed online for $34,999. So I show up to the Toyota dealership in Kennah-bruh to look at it, and I explain that I saw it on the internet.
Everything checked out, and I was gonna make an offer until I asked the salesman what the price was for the truck. He got up, walked around for 5 minutes, came back, and sat there and looked me straight in the face and said the absolute best they could do was $39,870. He said that gave them just enough money to cover their expenses on the truck and still make $200 in profit for himself.
That made me full-on angry, and I decided he needed to be fricked with. When we first started talking, he told me it was his daughter's birthday and they were going to have cake once he got home from work. I showed up to the dealership at around 6 not knowing that. I decided to string the back and forth along as long as I could just because the guy was a liar and a douche(typical car salesman). I kept that mf'er there until 9:15 and finally told him about the internet price and told him there was no way I'd buy it from him because he was a liar.
At that point he figured out I had been just fricking with him for the past two hours, and got angry himself. Stormed off and I walked out laughing and feeling like a better man.
Car salesmen are like cops; they are not there to help you and everything you say can and will be used against you. They are also taught to control the customers 100% of the time
