If you thought that DUI checkpoint was bad, you'd lose your mind if you ever got on a motorcycle and encountered a "safety" checkpoint outside the entrance to a C.O.C. Meeting
Hold your assless chaps, brother. Don't divulge too much to civies.

Police departments, at least BRPD, doesn't give a shite about "keeping drunks off the roads." They make SO MUCH money off DWI's. Why the hell do you think they set these up in south BR but never north BR? Sorry, I don't buy their willingness to peotect us. Checkpoints are unconstitutional and a major racket.

so should the 70% of people that cause non alcohol related fatalities be criminally charged for being shite arse drivers?
Kind of interested in a response to this.
Driving while texting (or using a handheld device) also has higher rates of incidents associated with it.
Do you support check points to make people show their cell phones to prove they weren't texting? Do you support extended prison sentences for people that were texting prior to causing a fatal accident?

You can blame MADD for the DUI hysteria caused over the last 35 years.
Or credit them.
