And the apartments are incredible and desirable so I see why he wants it. He's a dickhead.
I have a uncle that had the apartment above what is now Stanley for years, tough to find a better place in the quarter, atleast in my opinion. Many a good night spent on that balcony

I used to do a lot of work on a bunch of buildings in the French Quarter and have been through a bunch of those apartments. They are great places. People would be very surprised to see some of the places behind the wooden shutters all over the Quarter. Friends have a great apartment way down Royal and sitting in the courtyard you can't hear anything. It's nice

My aunts one is one of the best places I ever get to sleep in NOLA. It's literally drinking on one of the coolest balconies, to walking two rooms back to the quietest, darkest room you can think of to crash. It's terrible for lounging around inside in all the rooms between. The way the rooms are divided up, it's pretty much only useful for cocktail parties. But the balcony and back bedroom are perfect.

My aunt and uncle have one of the apartments in Jackson square on St. Ann for their leisurely getaway occasionally. Very nice. Had to wait on the list for several years before it became available. I see why he wants one.
Sweet, so do I.
