Quick question, you describe the Catholic Church as the church Christ built. Are you saying if a person is not part of this church that they are excluded from having a relationship with Him? Just trying to see what you’re saying here.

Nope. All Christian denominations have some of the truth and all people can have a relationship with Christ. We just believe that the Church has the fullness of truth through Christ’s promise.

Well that’s pretty interesting. I won’t have the full truth unless I become Catholic. I’m sorry, but I just don’t see that in scripture. Where did Jesus say that?

I didn't think this was even up for debate. When you have people running around thinking that if they do something extreme, like kill non Muslims they will have 7 virgins waiting for them in the afterlife.. I understand this isn't all Muslims, but all it takes is for a Muslim to become an extremist and be convinced to sacrifice himself.

That’s not what I said. You can know Christ, possess genuine Christian truth, and receive God’s grace without being Catholic. The distinction is between possessing truth and possessing its fullness.
As for Scripture, Jesus established His one Church (Matthew 16:18), gave His Apostles authority to bind and loose (Matthew 18:18), promised the Holy Spirit would guide them into all truth (John 16:13), and Scripture calls the Church the “pillar and foundation of truth” (1 Timothy 3:15).
In Acts 15, doctrinal disputes weren’t settled by everyone independently interpreting Scripture. The Apostles and elders gathered, made an authoritative decision, and declared, “It has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us.”
So the question isn’t whether you can know Christ outside the Catholic Church. Of course you can. The question is whether Christ established a visible Church with teaching authority or left Christianity to competing interpretations.
How do we infallibly interpret an infallible book?
What is the authority on earth that can help deduce this by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit?
If we have 30,000 denominations with contradictory beliefs, at most only one can be correct.

Bruh. That’s like saying you can only get to California on the one true way, I-10.
The routes are numerous.
Also, there are like over 500 versions of the Bible. You can’t even get agreement on the interpretations of the original Aramaic, Greek or other source language material.

That’s a false analogy. Christianity isn’t a road trip to California where every route is equally valid. Christ said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). And He established one Church, not hundreds of competing denominations with contradictory doctrines.
You’re also confusing Bible translations with doctrinal interpretation. Having 500 translations doesn’t mean there are 500 different truths. Different languages and translations don’t change the underlying question of who has the authority to interpret Scripture.
And that’s precisely the problem with your argument. If Christians disagree about baptism, salvation, the Eucharist, and even which books belong in the Bible, who settles those disagreements? Christ gave His Church authority to bind and loose (Matthew 18:18), and Paul called it the pillar and foundation of truth (1 Timothy 3:15). He didn’t establish an interstate highway system of contradictory doctrines.

You are an moran. I gave an analogy just like your book is full of. Nice to pick and choose. You must be a democrat or something.
These Jewish fishermen were not even named Matthew, Mark, Luke and John 2040-ish years ago. It’s all been changed.
The books of the Bible were put in or pulled out at Constantine’s or his paid staff’s whim.
Jesus was even voted in as the son of god by majority votes over the course of a few years, centuries after his murder, and many murders of dissenting holy men during the voting.
Yes. There are many ways to move forward to a better life and to deny such is like the pope refusing to look at the moon through his childhood bff Galileo’s telescope so he wouldn’t see the god who is perfect and made all, would see the moon not perfectly smooth.
A closed mind is no way to go through life.

K…
You started with insults and then proceeded to repeat several historically debunked claims.
First, Constantine did not decide which books belonged in the Bible. The Council of Nicaea in AD 325 didn’t establish the biblical canon either. We have Christian writings discussing the four Gospels and the divinity of Christ long before Constantine was even born.
Second, Jesus wasn’t “voted into divinity.” Ignatius of Antioch explicitly called Jesus God around AD 107, and John 1:1 identifies the Word as God. Nicaea addressed the Arian controversy and clarified the Church’s existing belief… it didn’t invent Christ’s divinity.
Third, your Galileo claim is historically confused. Galileo demonstrated his telescope to churchmen, including Jesuit astronomers, and Pope Paul V received him in 1611. The Galileo affair involved genuine Church errors, but your story about the pope refusing to look through the telescope isn’t established history. Galileo wasn’t completely innocent here either.
And regarding the Gospels, their traditional authorship can be debated historically, but claiming everything was changed requires evidence. We have biblical manuscripts and quotations from Christians centuries before Constantine.
You’re free to disagree with Christianity, but repeating popular historical myths while calling someone closed-minded isn’t an argument.
And finally, no kidding those weren’t their names… everyone is well aware of that. This post is so obtuse it seems trollish.

I agree with a lot of what you say, but, I don’t look at the Catholic Church as Christs church being THE church. The church is everyone that calls on His name for salvation. There is no salvation through any other. I do believe the scripture when it says that it is profitable for instruction, for reproof, and for discipline. I know this site is mostly Catholic, but too many times I read where a lot of them think that they are better, or, above other people that don’t believe the way they do. My salvation rests in what Jesus did and none other. And, reading what “bullfrog” posted just amuses me.
