SAN DIEGO, Ca. (KALB) - Frank Selas, 79 of San Diego, Ca., is a free man once again after a federal magistrate judge in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California determined on Tuesday that he will not have his bond revoked after a separate magistrate judge found "probable cause" two weeks ago that Selas violated his parole.
That information comes to News Channel 5 via Mike Small, who represented Selas through his court appearances in Rapides Parish for his 2018 plea to indecent behavior with a juvenile. Small has been in contact with Selas' attorney in California, Marc Carlos.
Selas, also known by his stage name "Mr. Wonder," is a former Monroe children's TV show host who was accused of sexually assaulting a child on a camping trip he hosted in the 1970s in Rapides Parish. As law enforcement zeroed in on him at the time, he fled the country, and wasn't captured until 2015 in California. Selas was sentenced to serve five years in Louisiana for the crime, but due to pre-trial time served and good time laws, he was released early and moved back to California. He is registered as a sex offender and is under strict conditions for his parole.
In a separate matter, Selas is currently awaiting sentencing in California on July 8 for a separate federal case where he pleaded guilty in February 2019 to using a false name on a passport.
As it pertains to apparent parole violations, Selas has been arrested three times in California since his Louisiana release in September 2018.
The first apparent violation came in December 2018 where an agent assigned to monitoring Selas tracked his GPS to a residence where he was previously denied access "due to children living there." They also searched his cellphone, "which revealed multiple pictures of unknown children on it." Selas was booked into jail, but later released due to insufficient evidence.
The second apparent violation came in January 2019 where an agent assigned to monitoring Selas tracked his GPS to the Yummy Spoon, a yogurt shop within 250 feet of a park. The GPS data also showed that Selas was at Embarcadero Marina Park North. Selas was booked into jail, but once again released and instructed to follow the orders of his parole conditions.
The latest arrest came on May 29, 2019, where according to court documents, an agent found that Selas "was in possession of a knife with a blade longer than two inches." The agent also found that Selas "was in possession of children's toys" in his home and garage, apparent violations of the special conditions of his parole.
The documents also list Selas' adjustment to supervision as "poor." A report also states that Selas "appears unwilling to abide by his conditions of parole."
We're told Selas has been released from jail and has returned home.

Wonder why no one hasn’t already ended his less-than-wonderful journey on Earth?
