Wife went to public school in SC and is very much opposed to paying the crazy private school prices.
Pics of her and we'll let you know if we want to spend crazy private school prices.

I'll be down there on Thursday for a few hours. Wife grew up in Quail Valley and went to Irmo. Harbison area is seemingly just exploding the past 10 years... Some section 8 shite out near where my MiL lives...I guess depending on work.. Look towards Chapin?

I had my only hole in one near there... Hit me up and I'll give a 45 minute detailed story about it...

5 minutes past the Pontiac exit on I-20 and you're in rural Kershaw County.
Now that's interesting.

I live in Elmwood Park and it's great. Right downtown, fun neighborhood, home values are great.

That said, we do not have children and the schools (middle school and high school) are HORRID.

If you want to stay downtownish, Shandon or Forest Acres will be your best bet if schools are an issue. Both have a lot of good dining around and good shopping.

If you don't mind a commute, then Irmo/Lexington would be your safest bet. Lexington traffic makes me want to kill myself, though. frick that shite. If you got the money, you could always live on Lake Murray and commute in.

I know of more and more folks moving to Camden or even Aiken and commuting every day, but that's a 45 minute drive without traffic.
