This is nuts, living in the south this crap shouldn’t be happening so bad.

How do y’all keep your humidity up in your houses where this doesn’t occur?

Sure you're not experiencing foundation issues?

That doesnt sound like a humidity issue. This is a 'your house is sinking' issue

This seems more likely than just humidity issues.

That is your foundation. You better call someone ASAP before it gets worse.

Nope, not even hairline cracks in the slab where the rooms of tile have just decided to let go of the thinset. Tile guy says he’s never seen anything like it.

lay a level on your floor

I really don't think you can dry your house enough to experience that much damage in BR

May be temperature. How much cooler are you letting your house get than it was in the summer? Slab may have cooled substantially with the week of cold weather we had.

Humidifier and air purifiers

I also have the Nest and 2 Awair monitors and the app so I can monitor my air quality whenever and wherever I am. I also have it set to send me notifications when the air quality gets bad.

Indeed it did, tile hasn’t buckled or cracked, just let go cleanly from the thinset

Tile guy says original installer may have used a cheap thinset, but my house has a ton of moulding and lots of cracks in joints and linear splits have happened in the last 2 1/2 weeks

Usually, you want to keep a house around 40-50% humidity. It does get lower in the winter mine got down in the low 30s for the last few weeks (at 37% currently).

Unless you got extremely low I wouldn't expect to see what you are seeing without some amount of foundation damage. The thinset issue is nuts.

How old is the house?

ETA is your molding stained hardwood or painted pine or mdf

10 years, and the tile started letting go in two different rooms at same time during cold spell, both room have door to outside and both instances the tile started letting go of thinset close to the door and then went out through the room from there
