It has gotten better since that pic was taken and there are 3 new high rise buildings going up at the moment.
Still, the mountains are what really impresses and one of the reasons I decided to stay here. Of course with all the west coasters moving in, it is going downhill quickly.

Too bad the land is filled with…well, things less than fantastic

Savannah with the saturation cranked up to 11 isn’t too bad. Normally it’s nothing to write home to mom about. The bridge is nice.

Vancouver also has a great skyline
Might be the best
Its good, but I wouldn't say best, nothing really distinguishing about it. the third picture gives a glimpse of the one unique sky skyscraper, with the space needle top on it, but other than that its kind of "yeah we got a lot of tall buildings grouped together" Nothing screams hey that's totally Vancouver. I could be wrong but its just my opinion man.
I think a great skyline has varying shapes to the buildings, and varying heights, and then a building that really distinguishes the sky line.

Charlotte especially at night is pretty underrated

Shreveport has a nice night time skyline. Come at me
Not bad in the daytime for the size of downtown. The Regions Bank building looks good from the East and from the South.
You have to take in the high rise hotels in Shreveport and Bossier for the full skyline, thats why it looks decent when driving in from the north/west/ and east. Only second to Nola in Louisiana for sure.

Agree.

Our skyline is nothing to write home about, but the backdrop is outstanding...
I'd put Anchorage in that class...
That's Denali and the Alaska Range to the West

Chugach Mts to the East

With views of the Kenai, Aleutians and the Talkeetna Mts.

And there's nothing quite like driving into Albuquerque on I40 east bound at night.

Denali?
Looks like Mt McKinley to me.
Thanks Obama.

Both Shreveport and BR are both equally quite average, but I would personally go with the skyline that has the distinction of having the tallest building in the South for roughly two decades as second.

They claim it will be the tallest building in Acadian at 260ft.
Technically speaking, that would be the Capital One building in Lake Charles at 340ft.

I really hope they redesign it before construction. That's really ugly.

Baton Rouge has more taller buildings, but they are spread out a bit farther. The tallest building in Shreveport is not bad looking for a 1980s design. I hate the big casinos though.
Conversely, the IBM building and the City Plaza buildings in downtown Baton Rouge look really nice to me even if they don't contribute much to the skyline. I think they are between 10-15 stories.

McKinley never set foot in Alaska. Denali makes more sense and with many mountains it's traditional to use the native name.

I dont get the fascination with this and tall buildings.
Like in Nola. Part of its skyline is an empty useless building.

I agree. And between the two, I'd have to give the nod to Baton Rouge here, especially with the river front and nearby LSU being visible from I-10.

I'd rank Shreveport's more compact skyline ahead of Lafayette, Lake Charles, Jackson, or Beaumont....but behind Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

A really disappointing one for its size is Memphis. It's actually comparable to Baton Rouge and Shreveport, and it's a large city that's the center of commerce for its region.
