I hate everything about this article, from the schools saying they can't bring it to the mom who feels her kid needs sunscreen to go to school to the nurse who is worried about fragrances.

I can somewhat understand the desire to send some. They used to send us outside for 90 minutes during recess. We got cooked in the spring after not being in the sun all winter. Nobody gave a shite back then.
I'd say it didn't kill us, but several of us have probably died from skin cancer.

I wasn't even aware you couldn't bring sunscreen to school. Seems like a strange thing to ban. We had girls in high school get expelled for having midol in the purses for cramps. Zero tolerance rules are so ridiculous.

Zero tolerance rules
All these zero tolerance policies were created to allow the administration to have to think even less than they already did. It makes it really easy to just suspend a kid because "rules" instead of sitting down and trying to understand and work out a problem that requires critical thinking. About halfway through my highschool years they implemented a zero tolerance fighting policy. It didn't matter if someone came up to you randomly and started punching you and you don't throw a single punch back, you were still suspended because you were involved.

That is downright ridiculous...

I graduated high school in 2000 and will never forget the straight-A cheerleader who was expelled for having Tylenol in her gym bag.
Zero tolerance policy.
Zero tolerance policy.
