You fricking dumbass. Because the guy had so much potential to make a difference and add value in the world.

The basket cases you’re knighting for? Ha. Not likely candidates to make this world a better place.

You are an idiot. If you are so worried about homicide rates decreasing in BR, I expect to see you protesting to inner city BR to get peeps help with investigations. There was a young man killed in front of 50-100 people and not a word. Had a bright future with hopes of walking on to Southern football team. Put your actions where your words are.

She said all this yesterday while trying to figure out if he was taken or robbery gone wrong or suicide. But yes, it's looking like suicide. She didn't say that though

We have some acquaintences whose 20- something child basically committed suicide and his mother has been a complete wreck ever since.
And it's been over 2 years ago.

In the news business, the black guy's death is dog bites man. The suicide is man bites dog.

We didn't know he committed suicide until tonight. Well we still don't know FOR SURE, but it seems that way.

My point is, up until tonight he was missing and the public had not been told about a suicide note and a gun. As far as I know that has not yet been reported in the news. It's possible the family asked law enforcement to not report it in case there was a chance he was still alive and would reconsider. Think about it, if he would have not gone through with it and was just scared to return due to embarrassment and or still contemplating suicide, his parents pleaing for his return without telling all the world he's suicidal, increases the odds that he'd return because he'd be less embarrassed to do so since those facts were withheld from the public.

The 17 and 18 year cases were not missing cases.

People focused on this lsu student case because they thought there was a chance he could be found alive. Or if they thought he was dead, the family still needs his body recovered for burial. Or if they thought he was murdered, you want to bring home the body AND the perpetrator.

I will answer this as honest as I can.
There is so much attention because he seemed like a really good responsible young man. He served his country and was pursing his degree. For whatever reasons (possibly the injury that cut short his military career) he fell into a dark place and to everyone's surprise he took his own life. It is something most everyone here can relate to in some fashion. Hopefully this will be the only story of it's kind for a long time before it happens again. His race has nothing do with it.

The story in unique. We are all saddened. People are wondering if anything could have been done to prevent it. We are being accountable.

Unfortunately young black people kill other young black people nearly every day. We are desensitized to it all. Black on black crime is all about race. I don't think anyone here is intentionally insensitive to young black losing their lives needlessly. But the black community doesn't want white people to help. Black people would rather ignore the black on black crime and divide the country by focusing on the .01% of young black people killed by police officers, usually while in the act of committing a felony and armed.

quote:

If we as a community spent nearly as much time trying to help seek closure for those families haunted by homicide

Wouldn't it be a hell of a lot easier to prevent the homicides from occurring vs. counseling and providing closure for survivors.

Be accountable.

And how are those two comparable?

This is exactly why I force myself to recognize the thoughts for what they are and not let my mind wander down that path. I have a lot of people who love me and I can’t destroy their lives. I love them too much.

Just acknowledging it more & opening up helps me get out of that mindset.

I feel it too. Really hard going thru the episodes but it does get better. Its such an absolute mind frick though.

Why do liberals and black people focus more on statues and bullshite than the shooting death at the hands of another of a 17 or 18 year old black young man?

Don't go there. Shake yourself up. Pray pray pray when you feel that way. I truly believe light is stronger than darkness. Fight it. Don't allow it to take hold of you. Ask for Saint Michael the Archangel to slay the darkness in Jesus' name. Don't let darkness take you over and snuff you out. You gotta fight.

(Some of y'all will prob laugh at me, but I don't mind because I know Jesus saves)
