Story still sounds a little fake. I'm sure they'll get to the bottom of this one and the mother involved too.

I guess calling 911 was out of the question for some reason. This still makes no sense unless he did something to her other than "assisting" her in drinking the milk. Odd that they were in the garage, as well. I think there could have been a commotion and if he was in the garage, it was to keep his wife from waking up. I'm not convinced she is involved.

Also, it sounds like the girl wasn't covered in this culvert. I looked around, but didn't see details on the body there. I saw that one man who lived near there and walked his dog around there daily never saw anything. You'd think there would be an odor in the area.

A better update - homeboy has a warrant

LINK

quote:

The adoptive father of a missing 3-year-old North Texas girl has changed his story, saying she choked while drinking milk at 3 a.m. and that he took her body outside after he believed she had died. Wesley Mathews, father of Sherin Mathews, presented his new story after going to the Richardson Police Department with his lawyer on Monday afternoon. Richardson Police announced Tuesday that the body of a small child found Sunday morning in a culvert about half a mile from the Mathews' home is Sherin. In his initial story given to investigators after the child vanished Oct. 7, Mathews said that he sent the girl outside as punishment for not drinking her milk, and when he returned about 15 minutes later, the child was gone.

I'm mixed up on her. I think she could easily be involved and may also have no clue. Maybe she's abused herself. They've been living separate since this started. Also, why admit to washing clothes? That's really random. Hopefully we get the full story and he eventually gets off'd in prison.

Choked on milk? Is that really the best excuse this POS could come up with?

It's easily proved or disproved with an autopsy.

I was under the impression that was because she is trying to get the oldest daughter back from foster care and her husband was already charged with endangerment, I think, so he needed to be out of the house.

As to the choking on the milk, maybe this could have happened if his "assisting" her in drinking it was pouring it down her throat.

I think he should be chained to a fence where the coyotes are. Let them kill him.

Could be the case. I know they were both at the court to get the child back. Judge denied since the father didn't have the correct attorney for that type of case.

I bet there's a plea in his future. I just hope if he caused her death, that he's gone for life.
