I dealt with that guy. He bought an $80K SUV from us. He was definitely different. He paid another $10K to get one his co-workers vehicle out of the shop.

He's in the Air Force so it's kinda cute that he makes jokes about actually serving.

Why does anyone care about this?

Seems a bit self-righteous.

He must make good money from his assassination contracts since he's such a badass.

Because he's pitting things on his resume and wearing things he didn't earn in an effort to deceive people and make money.

Why would anyone care if anyone lies about their profession for personal gain?

We shouldn't care if doctors are working in hospitals never even went to med school to earn their credentials. Or engineers. Or military members. Maybe they just stay at a Holiday Inn Express every night.

I'm more talking about the whole stolen valor thing.

I can't think of a profession where I care if the professional was an Army Ranger or not.

What if you knew the dedication and discipline it took to earn that title, and that knowledge was the difference between getting hired over the next guy? If I add "astronaut door gunner" to my resume', I'll bet I could get a job at NASA over some dipshit rocket scientist.

It's not a dick measuring contest, Darf.

FYI, I hate that people like you who are dicks about their service make other's who serve/have served look bad.

Get the frick out of here with this horseshite. I'm not the one who called out Guardsmen and tried insulting their service.

Did you just compare doctors and engineers to servicemen?

That is some grunt logic right there.

Guys like this must have some mental problems. I hope they can get some help. In the meantime, I'd like to see them face some legal troubles if they violate the Stolen Valor act.

But, mostly, I'd like them to get help and find a better way to feel good about themselves. There are plenty of Veteran support groups that have auxiliaries. They can always use help.

No, I did not. I compared the principles of dedicating oneself to a particular trade and earning the credentials. Same holds true for teachers, jockeys, lawyers, stock brokers, or law enforcement officers. If you're not qualified, don't parade around as someone you're not, duping the public for attention and personal gain.

Well yeah, but because you're in the air force, not because you're a guardsman.
