Wow. He didn't even link or quote. Just straight up took credit for it.

Anyway, the information he stole/shared is correct. An omission it had is the impact of a the concussion wave on hollow organs (intestines, stomach, lungs, heart). The sudden increase in environmental pressure then sudden drop as the wave passes can literally cause these fluid (gas and/or liquid)-containing organs to burst. Lesser so the heart.

The blood in the helmet is a little dramatic license, however.

Wasn't trying to take credit, just did what anyone else could have done in 2 minutes. I do know my fair share about military things because obviously I'm active, but I just simply copy and pasted from my phone andied didn't think about trying to quote or link. I can't remember the guys name but I believe around '04 the main guy running the militants in Iraq was killed by a large bomb. They later found it wasn't by frag or debris but his lungs collapsing.
He lived a few minutes after the blast but he basically suffocated to death.
Those unfortunate enough to experience a shock wave would understand. It hurts your insides.

I received a Purple Heart from an IED that was buried too deep luckily. It blew up 5 meters from me, I was concussed and took shrapnel to the head. Most of what we dealt with were mortar rounds rigged to explode. The shrapnel was what you had to worry about it IMO. Hurt Locker is the worst movie ever produced.

this thread reminded me of The Daisy Cutter bomb we used in Afghanistan. I didn't realize that bomb has been retired and replaced by the MOAB bomb.

There are plenty of videos on youtube of bombs exploading way in the distance and few moments later the shock wave knocking the camera people over.
