9 weeks of getting destroyed in the pool. There's an old documentary called Rescue Warriors on YT. Attrition is roughly 80%.

I agree, but everything is cyclical. When OIF/OEF kicked off we had shite numbers for SOF and especially in OEF you couldn’t put a big arse hub on the side of the mountain with 3ID so brass wanted small more agile units, hence SOF coming into play, which then got over worked. So a shortage arises then brass realizes this is where the war and possibly future conflicts will revolve around so there’s a focus on recruiting SOF.
Now you have all this SOF with no mission so they get everything and any overflow goes to regular infantry.

I would love for a former SNCO to be the SecDef. Think of all the bullshite that would be cut from basic military funding all the way down to dumbass SAPR classes.
