Soft skills part is so true.
I did a lot of concrete paving and carpentry work for one of my dad's friends during the summers of college, and 6 months post college.
(Mainly because it paid way more then any entry level job, and I had experience).
When you do that kind of work you can relate to most people except for super white trash.
While I was bummed at first about not finding a "college degree job" right away, I look back and realize it was a good thing. You can go far with an Economics Degree, work ethic, and construction experience.

This was shared on the poli-board also. Rowe nails it.

A diet of cigs, fruit punch, Mountain Dew, and the weekend at a titty bar.

Damn, as I read that, I had Mike's voice in my head. Mike nailed that whiny bitch, Craig.
Always liked his show, Dirty Jobs, and his narration plus seeing him on the History Channel on The Most prior to doing Dirty Jobs.

didn't he train to be an opera singer?
I heard an interview with him a few years ago on the Adam Carola(maybe???) podcast.
He wanted to get into the screen actors guild but had trouble getting in for whatever reason. He figured out the opera guild(not sure the exact name) and SAG memberships were reciprocal and the opera one was easy to get into. Then he figured out he was the only straight dude in the opera guild so he toured for a few years because it was easy to get laid.
