Just go to Oz (Australia for you yokels)
Anyways a commercial comes on TV for the Mazda BT 50

Just wondering if I should get one or not? Better or worse than the Canyon/Tacoma/Colorado?

Get it.
I had a 1989 Mazda B2200 in college. Couldn't keep the women off me. It was insane.

The Hilux and Colorado are big sellers in Australia. VW, Mitsubishi, and Mazda all have mid sized truck competitors there.

Was reading about this the other day. The Chicken tax was implemented and basically insulated the US car manufactures from competition. Ironically, Ford, who was one of the main companies the tax was created for, exploited a loophole that allowed their overseas interest to export "passenger" cars here. Good read.

Ford and GM both have pretty nice mid sized SUV's over there that I'd love to own here in the states.
Real SuV's. Not crossovers.

I'd drive a Ford Everest.
But they also get the diesel Land Cruiser and TJM/ARB's are much cheaper there.
