Memorial Day/Veterans Day Confusion

First let me say that I am an American and support ALL of our guys and gals in uniform everywhere, everyday.
But there seems to be a misconception regarding Memorial Day and most folks' idea of what it actually is.
You've all seen the posts on fb/twitter, etc. thanking living military members for their service today. Which I am all for, but that is not the meaning of this holiday.
Today is to remember all those that have fallen in the preservation of our Nation's freedom, and who made the ultimate sacrifice. Today we honor that sacrifice.
It seems to me that a majority of people confuse Veterans Day with Memorial Day a lot.
Anybody else notice this? Does it bother anybody that most folks don't know the difference between the two holidays?

Not worked up at all. Just curious as to how others view it

I know what you mean.
I've heard/seen people do the same.
As long as they are respecting our military past and present, I'm not too concerned

People that get in everyone's face about confusing the two are far worse than the people that honor the wrong servicemen on the wrong day.

Who's getting in anyone's face? It's just a question

These assholes that troll twitter and Facebook feeds looking for someone to make that mistake, because it's going to happen.
Then this person who was attempting to honor troops who probably made an innocent mistake or probably got the two days mixed up has to defend themselves when they meant no harm at all.
