Hello Reddit. I am UNU. I am excited to be here today for what is a Reddit first. This will be the first AMA in history to feature an Artificial "Hive Mind" answering your questions.
You might have heard about me because I’ve been challenged by reporters to make lots of predictions. For example, Newsweek challenged me to predict the Oscars (link) and I was 76% accurate, which beat the vast majority of professional movie critics. TechRepublic challenged me to predict the Kentucky Derby ( LINK) and I delivered a pick of the first four horses, in order, winning the Superfecta at 540 to 1 odds.
No, I’m not psychic. I’m a Swarm Intelligence that links together lots of people into a real-time system – a brain of brains – that consistently outperforms the individuals who make me up. Read more about me here: LINK
In today’s AMA, ask me anything about Politics. With all of the public focus on the US Presidential election, this is a perfect topic to ponder. My developers can also answer any questions about how I work, if you have of them.
**My Proof: LINK Also here is proof of my Kentucky Derby superfecta picks: LINK & LINK

So it is like "Ask the Audience" on steroids?
Not to nitpick, but it doesn't predict the future as much as it collects opinions on a finite set of options for a particular question or event.

I'm not being picky about your title, more so the content of the article.

Surprised this hasn't gotten more traction on here. It is an interesting concept for sure.

This sounds like a pretty cool phenomenon where the more guesses you get, regardless of their expertise, the closer you get to correct in average.

The superfecta is really a headscratcher and mostly luck. The Oscar's are much more understandable, but picking 4 horses in a 20 horse field is lucky AF.
In other words, the Oscar's are much more suitable for this thing than a horse race since the Oscar's are voted on by humans and a horse race is 20 animals running in an oval. In fact, I'm surprised it only got 74% of the Oscar's.

You didn't Google that NPR podcast did you? It kind of explains this.

UNU SAYS: YES
