Medical board question

I got no response with posting this on the Health/Fitness board. I don’t post much but I would like to get some feedback from anyone that has had a family member or loved one go through rehab for a brain aneurysm. My wife had one 54 days ago. We have progressed to the point that we are in a LTAC facility right now fixing to make a decision on where to go for her long term rehab. We are in the Baton Rouge area. A couple of the nurses and doctors have mentioned Touro in New Orleans. I am a little familiar with them having known someone who went through rehab there. I have heard of a couple of good facilities in BR as well. Any information anyone may have would be helpful. Thanks

Best case scenario here is a bunch of nurses that think they know more than they do. I would check with actual doctors
Good luck with your wife’s recovery.

LTAC and rehab are different things

Are there support groups where you live? Maybe some people come together and can help if nobody here has information.
Came in here looking to post that it was definitely AIDS from the BBC. Jeez man, best of luck.

The medical care in Louisiana sucks in general. You should look around elsewhere if possible.

My father in law had one that they did a surgery on ten years ago. They told him it would kill him if he did not have surgery. He had the surgery and it all went fine, but it caused a lot of memory problems. They told him he would likely see progress for a year and after that time where ever he was at, would likely be as good as it would get. He made a full recovery and even went back to work as a draftsmen. Glad to still have him around today. Good luck and prayers to you and yours. edit to add, wife said it was 15 years ago. Time flies!

Another endorsement for Touro in New Orleans and Memorial Hermann in Houston.
Don't know anything about inpatient rehabs in BR.
Curious as to why she is in LTAC presently, with all due respect, if you care to share more with us.

TIRR in Houston is top notch. As far as BR is concerned, Im only familiar with OLOL and Sage.

Nick Tullier one of the deputies shot on July 17, 2016 is at TIRR. They do great work.

Thanks for the replies. She is in LTAC currently due to the fact she had to be graduated off both a ventilator and a catheter. Has a trach as well and hasn’t spoke since all this happened. No real communication taking place yet.
