Mechanics of the OT: AC low pressure port

Trying to check Freon levels on my girlfriends 2016 Chrysler 200. The gauge and can of Freon won’t clamp down the port. I know it’s the right port. Aren’t these things supposed to be universal? It’s clamps fine on my 2014 gmc z71. Did Chrysler change theirs up where you need a special adapter only the dealership has?

Check to make sure the cap that you took off is not broke. Look to see if a piece of cap is broke of in the low side port. Also shine Alight in the connector on the hose, make sure it clear.

What type refrigerant? 134a isn’t going to work.

Thanks! Must use a different hose connector then. I’ll go look for one tomorrow.
Oh and in my google search for this I saw this
Notice the average cost

A lot of local shops won’t work on the r1234yf stuff. I had a similar problem with a work vehicle last year. Employee said the ac wasn’t cooling so stopped at Walmart and added some 134a. Ended up at the dealership and had to flush the system.

You shouldn't be messing with this without knowledge and a manifold

Why? I just need to check Freon pressure and add a little if it’s low
