I lived in Kenner and worked in New Orleans for the last 3 years before we moved in May. I spent $0 in the city the last 2 or so years of that. I didn't buy gas at a New Orleans gas station, order a meal from a restaurant, or attend an event there. I refused to give that shithole a single cent of tax revenue and Latoya "PHASE TA-TWO" Cantrell being in office was the catalyst for that mindset.
New Orleans is getting what it fricking deserves.
New Orleans is getting what it fricking deserves.

You’ve done more than any other reporter in this room that has been in my opinion in violation of me as a human being, so with that sir, thank you very much,” said Cantrell.
This is funny, You can't be the leader of the city of New Orleans and frick someone's husband while he is being paid by the same city. Here is a little heads up on how to keep Lee off your arse, quit doing hood rat shite you fricking count.

Adds up. I'm one of many. And I'm pretty sure the city is broke, the roads, infrastructure, and shitty public services indicate as much. Sorry about that.

Whatever makes you feel better that smart people don't spend their money there. How's it feel to bring your own trash to the dump?

I’ve never had to bring my trash to the dump lol
It’s laughable that you think you made a difference by not spending whatever you would have spent here.

Who does that?
I pay to have my 3 trash cans picked up from my driveway 2 times a week.
Eta I actually have 2 recycling cans and 2 trash cans.
My math is wrong, I get 4 cans picked up 2 times a week

Who said I thought it made a difference? All I said was that I refused to spend a cent in the city because I didn't want it to go towards anything positive for the city because it's a shithole. It's like not buying tickets to a team you don't support. The go nowhere do nothing NOLA lovers are so damn sensitive.

The 20mm visitors a year would disagree.
But you have fun in Kenner

So people not spending money in the city isn't a bad thing? The city that was facing like a $200mm shortfall within the last year or so?
I'm not saying (edited to add bold, italics, and underline) I made a difference. Learn context lil guy. And make sure the car doors are locked before da-da tucks you in tonight. God knows if you need police they'll be there Monday morning.

quote:laugh all you want but according to the city's most recent audit, their governmental funds have a negative unassigned fund balance of around ($64 million)...so it can't be going that great.
