Is that a seedy neighborhood?

Nope. Middle-upper Middle Class. That entire area(East Hills) is very nice.

Plum is where Oakmont Country Club, which has hosted multiple US Opens, is located.

My dad was born and spent the first 8 -9 years of his life in New Kensington, which is just across the Allegheny from Plum in Westmoreland County.

That looks like what happened in the case of Robert Fischer. He left the gas on for an extended period then had it detonated

Somebody must have farted near an ignited gas stove causing the explosion.

Isn't that the same utility company that didn't cutover the sensing lines when they swapped to a new pipe causing a serious overpressure of the system and like 30 house fires?

Reminds me of that couple that wanted to fake a woman's death by blowing up her house by leaving the gas service line on. They ended destroying an entire block and ended up in prison.

This was my first thought...

There are storms in the area with a good bit of lightning. That's all I've got.

Wouldn’t shock me. TECO loves to be cheap. But the aren’t unique in having a mostly retarded, nepotistic workforce. If people knew the qualifications it takes to be an HDPE “welder” they would wonder how this isn’t more common.

Checks out.

They're God awful.

Thank God my stepmom lives in a neighborhood in E.Butler(NNW of Plum) that is on a natural gas collective.

Hopefully no one was inside. It would be hard to imagine not being able to smell gas if it were the cause.

Crazy either way.

1 dead a couple hurt so far.

The leak isn’t always inside. The most dangerous kind is a leak just outside where it loads up the attic from the eves. Little spark or pilot light = big boom.

Wonder if he got sloppy reloading or something. A bunch of premade isn’t doing that.
