Man's blue jean fire connected to three property fires

UNION PARISH, La. - (7/23/18) The State Fire Marshall’s Office and Bernice Police Department have arrested a man after they say he set a pair of jeans on fire in a yard, which spread to a building and then onto two other properties.

Kevin Henry, 51, was booked into the Union Parish Detention Center on one count of criminal trespassing, one count of fire raising on lands of another and one count of negligent injuring.

Officials responded to the fire around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018.

Henry later told LAOSFM deputies that he set the jeans on fire because he didn’t want them anymore, but didn’t mean to cause the damage it did.
