Strake is now near Cold Springs (west of Willis). $33million put into it. Awesome facility.

3 nesters in our house and happy Woodlands tenants of 16+ years.

Reminder: This post was about traffic in the Woodlands.

And yes, when my favorite artists text me and ask when to play at the amphitheater in The Woodlands I sometimes get confused and tell them to play on a Friday night because I forget how bad traffic can be. Total douche move, I know.

I loathe Cynthia woods for their olds working security with iron fist but unless there multiple wrecks on both 45 and hardy, it is rarely more than 45-1 hour drive

I’m coming from the inner loop. It takes me 20 mins to get up Kirby to 59hwy. Then another 20 to get past downtown to even get ON 45. Im 40 mins in and STILL in downtown Houston. Then another 40 mins battling 45 N traffic and once I “make it to the Woodlands” I still have a 10-15 minute drive to get from the exit to the destination. The Woodlands is an hour with no traffic. Two on Friday rushhour

Depends on which side of I-10 you’re on IMO. If you need to be on 610 or 59 for a significant period to get to Hardy it can be tough to do it in under an hour at a normal time of day

coming from the south loop, you'd probably be better off taking 610 around the ship channel than driving up Kirby

yeah that drive blows but if you are above 59, it is really not that bad. If you are above I-10 its not that bad.

Again, i hate cynthia woods and i wish Houston had an outdoor venue closer to town.

From 610 south or from Allen Parkway?

You’re doing it wrong if you’re driving up Kirby from the 610 south area.

If you’re coming from River Oaks…in no world does it take you 20 minutes.

I do it almost everyday…my kids go to ROE.

I just checked Googlemaps at 3:30 on a Wednesday from my house, in an inner-loop neighborhood. Three routes are shown. The fastest route is 1 hour 26 mins to the Pavillion without any accidents or slow downs shown other than the typical 59 from Shepherd to downtown (2 miles). Its not even Friday or rush hour.

I'm centrally located but have Galleria traffic to my left. Downtown traffic to my right, Med Center traffic surrounding my neighborhood and a bazillion school zones on each block. I basically avoid the roads from 3-7pm every day. It wasn't always like this.

I guess the original post was about traffic specifically in the Woodlands. It is EVERYWHERE.
