So you lied about being a nerd
So noted
Without the nerds, there would be no trading cards to profit on
Without the nerds, there would be no bands performing at hs and college games
Without the nerds, the security protecting the media you love would not exist
Without the nerds, conversation in complete latin between two sound asleep braniacs never happen. I witnessed this in person and still say it is as profound a sign as taking the water in Lourdes
Show some respect.

I don't need to claim to be a nerd to be a nerd. I don't show off that way.
Im one of the nerdiest ppl you will ever meet. I geek out on multiple hobbies.
I code, I build SBCs, etc. Just because I lift, BJJ and have decent cardio and never played in a HS band doesn't make me not a nerd. I just am better than those ppl.

I was in an airport recently and the car rental place tried to put me into that or something like that and I flipped out and went back in there to get something else.

Exactly, via this simple plot device the consumers of today are constantly "fooled" by what the label says. Part of it is when the rag trade up East got moved to China so a handful on Wall Street could pay themselves obscene money while saying how smart they were in the strip bars after work.
The bigger part is both fashion and art have been displaced from real talent (see also Edith Head) to sell, sell, sell, and sell again.
