Still on this side of the dirt. Happy Ken finally got his shoe on but hoping the bruise he got while barefoot doesn’t abscess.

How about you?

Still breathing, and a day closer to the weekend.

Is he still losing shoes? He needs to quit that shite.

Fairly busy, but not too bad. Hoping the weather can hold serve and the weekend is as nice as the workdays have been.

The nesting pairs seem to stay together away from the others. At other times of the year I see them in small flocks of 6 or 8 or 10. They appear to be social beings.

I had a pair of Peregrine Falcons earlier this year but haven’t seen them lately. They could be the reason behind the crows clearing out of here.

bird feeder
Do they put wheat in the bird seed? I was mowing the yard the other day and I swear it looked like there were a few areas where wheat was growing.

It is a common filler in the economy blends. Most birds will not eat it other than a last resort, and it's not uncommon for it to germinate after they've let it sit on the ground.

I get the non germinating seed and put the feeder over an access to under the house in case to limit that problem

I don’t have a bird feeder because I don’t want to attract any more varmints than I already have. Several of my neighbors have bird and squirrel feeders and I suspect they are the source of the wheat. Haven’t seen any so far but I’ve had corn growing in the yard the past several years.
