Not eating today. Had a call from my son this morning. He is in California for work and found out his mom, my ex-wife, passed away last night/early this morning. I am in the office but have spent all my time contacting people while he is making arrangements to get back east.

Say a prayer for him that he is given the strength and comfort to get through this. She was only 66. Alzheimer’s is a nasty disease.

Oh Iona I am sorry to hear that. It will be hard for your son for a while. Y'all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

ETA: About to make another pot of Cafe Bustelo. It has a strong flavor and a nice chewy consistency that is satisfying with every sip.

Rebel, Kcrad, madam, slag thank you all very much.

She and I separated and divorced very early on in our son’s life. At an engagement party for my son and his future wife back in 2017 I saw her for the first time in years. I went over to speak with her and we chatted for about 5 minutes and I realized she did not know who I was. As I turned to walk away my son (who was at her side the entire party) said, “Mom, that’s Dad”. She got out of the chair, yelled “Stephen!” and gave me a big hug.

I was happy that she enjoyed the wedding in September 2017 and saw her grand daughter in October 2018. I know she’s at peace now. I know my son is hurting because they were so devoted to one another.

Enough of this. Kcrad, do not be concerned about my not eating today - I can afford to miss many meals without any issue of starvation.
