Pumpkin pie isn’t much more than a ground up gourd with egg, butter and sugar mixed together.

I like turkey, too. Not sure what I am going to do tomorrow. I was planning on staying home; eating a rotisserie chicken (turkey takes too long to make) with some mashed potatos, corn, green beans, stuffing.

I was invited to a number of places, but I do not want to travel anywhere. The one invite I am considering accepting is from a lawyer I know. Her family is from Viet Nam. She says it's a big celebration and I'm kind of interested in seeing what they do. I'll play it by ear.

Safe travels to all who are traveling.

I'm not a fan. A fresh apple pie is pretty damned good. I only eat it on holidays. I eat enough other crap throughout the year.

Cody, at this rate, my hips look like I’ve been sucking on a stick of butter for the better part of a century

My aunt usually brings a carrot cake for Thanksgiving that takes her several hours to prepare. That thing is legit. I’ll have a piece if she brings it and that will be my only desert dish of the year.

Nontraditional is cool. Our first Thanksgiving after we bought our house in Baton Rouge was different. We had bacon wrapped shrimp and some sides for Thanksgiving.

No plans for tomorrow yet. We are on St. George Island and will try to find a restaurant that is open

Slag, you would have loved the menu I picked out years ago when I was president of The Barristers. At our black tie holiday dinner dance the hor d'oeuvres included mini beef Wellingtons. No one has ordered them since (at least at the dinners I attended). They were a big hit.

I would be tickled pink if mini BWs were served at a to do I was attending! I’m sure you have excellent taste and an exemplary palate.

08, so what if I do?!

Oh, almost forgot. English peas are bottom of the barrel holiday food. I was forced to eat those nasty things as a child and have tried to acquire a taste for them as an adult. No dice.

Slag, you are too kind. I have to admit, however, that I eat a lot of junk food, too many sweets, and far too many carbs. The fit of my clothes is now starting to show it. I need to get back on my clean eating. Plus, since I'm not walking 5 miles a day since this time change nonsense, I'm not getting exercise. Come on Spring!
