My damn parade is defunct now... the veterans association that I was involved in has scaled back to almost nothing.

Guy in my sub vet group was trying to get his hands on a torpedo that we were going to pull on a trailer in the parade here, but it fell through.
I'm kinda looking forward to our parade this year. We're in a damn Army town. I heard a guy last year say WTF are submarine guys doing in this parade.

King's Bay, GA... it's right across the GA/FL border just north of Jax. I was there for about 4 years and it sucks balls.

Kings Bay is right up the road. About 30-45 minutes north of Jacksonville. I spent a lot of time in J'ville when I was stationed there. Quite a few guys I was stationed with lived there.

It's strictly a submarine base. East coast home of SSBN's and SSGN's.
Some places like Norfolk, VA and Pearl Harbor, HI have both surface and sub bases... KBay is subs only.
