Velveeta is made for it's melting properties. It melts consistently, doesn't separate, etc. Which makes it great for cheese dips.
Honestly, I prefer grilled cheese using real cheese. Nothing like a grilled cheese made with a good cheddar or any other quality cheese.

Sometimes, a good old-fashioned grilled cheese on buttery white sandwich bread with a thin slice of Velveeta is soooo comforting. I also love grilled cheese with Jarlsberg or Havarti or any other fun cheese on a fancy bread. They all have their time and place IMO.

Definitely a cheese product. It has extra ingredients so it will melt consistently.
