I parked it...and haven't needed it all day

Turns out my engine light being on...was that my entire fuel tank needs to be replaced. $1500 job

Thank goodness I brought it in at 84632 miles. My extended warranty runs out at 85K miles. Barely made it. Now instead of $1500 i just have to pay $100 deductible.

Hoping I will get to pick it up today..if not it will be ready tomorrow.

Someone who was unscrupulous might have tried to just replace half of it... Sounds like you found an honest mechanic.

How does this happen?

I had a weird thing with my F-150 last year. Had to replace all the lug nuts. A first for me.

Very common with F-150’s lately. I had to do the same and from what the mechanic shop it happens often

Continued driving under the speed limit will do that, Grandpa Walton.

I took it to dealership. Apparently whatever thing is leaking is attached to fuel tank thus why entire tank has to be replaced

Engine light kicked off a code saying small evaporative leak. Which I know can be something as small as gas cap not on tight.

Since I was so close to my warranty end I had them check everything out.

Did you safely ride your bike today?

I did! And it was wonderful. 11 miles. Perfect weather. 70s and sunny with not a cloud in the sky.

Forgot how much riding a bike outside is my happy place.

Yeah - I was told they use a conventional carbon steel lug nut encapsulated in polished stainless steel. After a few tire rotations the heat from the impact wrench causes them to swell. Swollen nuts - never a good thing.

The only reason I would think the engine light would come on if it is related to your fuel tank is if it connects to some sensors.

Yep and they swell when they get wet

Tony Pepperoni, don't lie... your designer coveralls have never seen what's underneath any truck's hood, have they?
