My son was just accepted there for engineering. We’re not in Texas but they’ve offered him in-state tuition because of his test scores. He won’t even apply to LSU with what I’ve been seeing.
The Zachary Engineering building was nice when I saw it a few years back.

It was very noticeable today. Both on campus and at the game.
I had some USCe fans ask me if campus was normally like this. I told them no. The only time I recall it being this bad was when Southern played in Tiger Stadium. The smell of weed coming from the large group at the corner of S. Stadium Drive and Highland Road was overwhelming.

I have frequented campus for the past 7-8 years for the UREC membership and to do my weekly afternoon runs. The UREC demographic has completely shifted this year. Some days where I just say F it now and hit a different gym to avoid the trash.
I really am waiting for LSU to release the new demographic statistics for 25/26 academic year because it’s concerning at this point. My kids will not be going here if this trend continues. Some of these kids they have admitted this year have no business being on any college campus…

This is what happens to a school when you get rid of testing and embrace "holistic admissions." This started under Tate and has continued since his departure. William Tate did a lot of good things for LSU, but getting rid of testing requirements was not one of them.

It seems like game day the past few years has become increasingly ghetto. It’s a shame because it used to be one of the safest large gatherings you could find. It was really a remarkable thing. Hundreds of thousands of people having a good time for an entire day and very minor incidents. Now you have to worry about shootings. I agree with the other poster. Bring the national guard in on game days.

Please! Lived for over 4 years on Garfield St. and it is what it always is.
The on thing thing different now with LSU and what LSU was in the 2005 era is the name of buildings and you can't slide down the Indian mound on carboard.
In other words noting but frosting made for white woke women....

There has been a dramatic shift on campus this year from previous years. I felt horrible for the innocent families and visiting fans walking around Highland today. I’m sure they felt completely unsafe as the road was blocked for twerking followed by gunfire. I couldn’t imagine walking my kids through the filth proudly on display.
LSU is going to lose their arse if they don’t do something immediately to bring back a feeling of safety on campus. I hope Landry and whoever leads LSU has the balls to do what has to be done.

Is the local hood just taking over that side of campus during game days now? The other shooting a few games ago was around there
Yes, Highland on Gameday looks like New Orleans East.

Today was absolutely insane. We have never felt unsafe and we tailgate right on the border of the hood. The only time it was this “busy” was Southern but they were actually going to the game and tailgating. Today was weird with people just walking around and smoking weed. Between the incessant TV timeouts, loud rap music over TGBFTL, and the overall ghettoness walking around campus I’m about ready to be done. I didn’t think I would ever say that.

Anybody that saw the scene on Highland today and keeps giving LSU money is insane

That field on the corner of highland and south stadium has gotten extremely ghetto the last few years. It’s overpacked for random games. 99% of those people aren’t going to the game. Idk when that became the spot, but it is now.

This is why electing the right DA and District Court Judges of EBRP is so important. We’ve had a criminal DEFENSE attorney for DA the past 18 years. Nice guy but weak.

I don’t know when that photo is from, but the out of control events that kicked off the school year should’ve been seen as foreshadowing.
LSU is in a hard downward slide. Landry is a dumbass but he needs to put his crazy dumbass energy to work here. Do whatever it takes to save this university.

This is truth. Everything is not prosecuted or pled down to nothing. But he has good tickets behind home plate at LSU baseball games!

The number of black and Hispanic students have doubled since 2020.
