I have a second cousin that I know has 5+ felonies.

I know someone who has been in and out of jail since we were in HS.. I don't know if he has 5+ felonies.. but I know he did 3 years then 10 years. I think the 10 year was due to illegal fire arms (I think because he was a felon, but I thought if you were a felon and caught with a firearm you get a life sentence).

This dude was trouble as long as I have known him. I remember when people still rented movies, someone I know who used to work at a place called 'Movie Land' told me that the troubled dude owed over $1k in late fees. And someone was able to open up a few other accounts under other names, in which those accounts had late fees as well.

I know that's irrelevent, but I thought about it when I thought about this person I am talking about. But the last I heard was that his girlfriend was going to press charges on him because he evidently beat her and that would have put him back in jail, but she all of a sudden claimed she was just mad at him so she made it up..

But my point is.. I should have gone to law school so I could make sense of how it all works because some people seem like they should be in jail for life and keep getting out.. And others, for less crimes, are in jail for life.

Dude, relax. Do you think your long arse essay helps soothe the Sunday night anxiety that we all feel?

I saw his crimes. While he deserved prison time, he doesnt deserve life. Sometimes we need a little more common sense. The issue of course, is if he is let go, attorneys will try to reopen every habitual case in the state. Our system needs to change at some point. Common sense has no part of our criminal justice system at this point.
