Crazy that someone who knew they'd be in the running to finish front of the pack and likely place didn't realize that was a no-no. Pretty standard that you can't have unsanctioned help. Especially if you've been warned once in the race.
It's a pretty big deal to qualify for events like the Boston Marathon, so even if there wasn't a lot of prize money on the line, It's pretty crappy to cheat like that.
