The fear is that data centers actually aren't the next big thing and they'll eventually close one by one, and the power companies will pass on the cost of all of the new infrastructure and stuff they had to build out to customers.

Don't worry, just let Entergy tweak your thermostat and they can balance out the energy consumption. You won't have a heat stroke at 78F and your electric bill will only go up 30% or so. Your kids will have more free time at least since AI will be writing all their papers.

Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee all have similar programs for incentivizing projects like these.

I guess those 3 states (3 of the top at attracting industry) are just filled with fricking idiots. Eric in Central has it figured out though
