My favorite thing is watching my plane land without issue and everyone deplane, only to be told minutes later that we will be having a 3 hour mechanical delay.

They're old planes running constantly without much time in maintenance. I'm surprised there's only delays of up to 3 hours regularly.

Any update? I see you're still in DFW... I was gonna suggest maybe flying into MSY but they cancelled the 255pm. Next flight to BTR is at 4:11pm AA2832. There's still some seats on that one just in case they decide to cancel your flight

ETA: These rolling 15/20 minute delays are terrible

I was flying back from overseas once when US Airways was still in business. Boarded the plane, backed away from the gate and taxied for take off. Had to abandon takeoff and taxi down the runway back to the gate and we all had to deplane for a mechanical issue. Announcement comes it was all good and the exact thing happened again.

They knew nobody wanted back on that airplane so we got free drinks for the 3 hour flight. At least had we crashed everyone would have been completely smashed.
