Just stay in it, cuz you’ll go back anyway.

insurance is a solid option but sales is sales and that shite translates across several fields.
market yourself as a guy that can overcome objections thats driven by your numbers. youve seen firsthand that theyll hire anybody to be a car guy, bloviate yourself to appear like youre better than that and youll be turning down sales offers left and right.
ask about how youll get your leads, and the realistic opportunity for volume. if you can get something that offers base+commission youre well on your way to still struggling from time to time, but you wont be at a dealership every frickin weekend.
good luck baw

BDR in Software/SaaS/Tech. It might feel like a step down, but if you are a good salesperson, you can get promoted quickly.

If you can somehow translate that direct car sales experience into relationship sales you can go work for pretty much anybody in a lot of different markets because honestly, people willing to talk to another human being at the drop of a hat are getting harder to find. Distributors. Manufacturers. Pick a market that's not so tied to the market cycles. Something that no matter what, must be bought if it goes down.
Then get good at it.
Then get good at it.

The customer is always right
That is definitely not true. Sometimes they are big ole' sacks of turds. Customer service can be through the roof, and people still lie. What an ignorant response. Lol
I bet you are blast to have to have to deal with.

How many cars do you have to sell a year to even make $75k a year?
50-60 cars
Double the cars sold to get that amount of money.

Seriously, insurance is the way to go. Not working for an agency, owning your own agency. Building that renewal comp gets you through leaner times. Let me know if you want to talk, I’m happy to help you out.

Buying a car should be like buying a loaf of bread. Here's the price, the end.
I know it's designed to prey on stupid people, and I am not stupid so I do my homework and try to get the best deal I can when buying a car.
Do you see how these sentences do not compute? Do you haggle for a loaf of bread? The price is the price, correct?

I’m not. But I always walk away winning the deal and making the turd think they won
That’s how sales and negotiations work.
As long as both sides think they win, it’s a success.
You’ll learn how business is done one day kiddo

Sure thing there champ. Not at all what was said, I understand what a mutually beneficial agreement is, but just twist things around the make you feel big and strong. Stay cocky, buckaroo.

Wishing poorly on another man to save a few bucks per month on your truck note isn't a good quality in a human. Be less of a POS.
