G25 or G30 is a good stick, if you are real consistent try a Titleist or G30LS or TaylorMade SLDR, otherwise the G25/30 are the size of coconuts and forgiving.

Play it down from the tips, obviously. But, does this guy get to re-tee?

It's up. He found it, so it's all good.

I did after breaking the beak off a water turkey with a baby catfish in his mouth off 9 at Latour when there was nothing but beak and a catfish in 9's fairway.

so you are saying you are hoping to buy a driver that can turn your bad form into good outcomes?

just pay a teaching pro a couple of times in August and September each, keep your current driver and learn to play the game.
Keep looking for a good teacher. Forget changing the clubs.
The clubs are never going to save you from a bad swing.

Thanks for this recommendation. I just completed a purchase from there tonight for a "fine" (better than very good) condition Callaway Razr Fit...only $52 shipped, much cheaper than the other sites.

I went to Golfsmith today to hit a few drivers and get some advice. The guy said the TaylorMade SLDR were not good, and that TaylorMade has stopped selling those or something. Said to go with 9.5 degrees loft, stiff shaft, and 440 or 460 ccs.

First driver I tried was a ping K15 (they didn't have a ton of lefty options) and I liked that...the difference vs my off brand smaller metal driver was ridiculous. Then tried a Callaway Optiforce which I liked even better...used that for a bit until the shaft snapped and the head went flying into the screen. Figured the Razr would be close to that in performance. Guy said Callaways were pretty forgiving.

I also realized just how difficult it is to hit it 300 yards. My best drive with the Optiforce was 269.

I was hitting my 913 with BB7 X flex 290 on the fly over the weekend.

Fairways were soaked and the ball would just plug. I'm pretty strong though, so.......
