My son and I are going to take the Sunset limited to Houston in a couple weeks. It doesn’t count as hooky if we go to enough museums.

In the 80's, I went to a school that was 50/50 between whites and black. Always racial tension. I had friends on both sides and would just drive home. Stupid bullshite. Starting my junior year, I went to booker t Washington half a day for computer science lab that was 99 percent black. They were in a rough part of Shreveport and didn't know what to expect. I played football at my school and was in a class of their football players. I had a great time. They treated me great. The football players always had my back. Girls would flirt. It wasn't the school that was the problem but the area.

My mom raised me to judge a person from their character and not skin color. Had a really fun two years and learned a lot about programming and robotics. But this was also during the infancy of programming. Fortran, basic and turbo pascal. Was great times
